What is this newsletter about?

Behavioral science - the study of how and why we make decisions - is at the heart of technology. This is a newsletter to explore the overlap between the two, where technology can leverage psychology more, and where technology may be misusing general biases in human nature.

My background is in applied behavioural science. I trained as an economist, got waylaid by a few years in management consulting, worked at the UK’s Nudge Unit, and am now a Product Manager at a UK scale-up. This gives me a perspective across business, technology, policy, and the application of behavioral science in the wild.

The newsletter’s photo comes from a 2007 meeting between psychologists - in particular the most living famous psychologist in the world, Danny Kahneman - and various heads of technology. Evidence that technology has been adopting - for better or worse - findings from behavioral science for the whole Web 2.0 era.
